It's SO nice to read Barbara Hambly's writings again. Her work is, without exception, more inventive, more convincing and more immersive than several more-popular fiction authors (looking at you, Mercedes Lackey). Her short story "Nanya of the Butterflies" brings us back to the world of mercenary-turned-wizard Sun Wolf and his faithful warrior-lover Starhawk. I have loved these characters since I first encountered them in Hambly's excellent novel "The Ladies of Mandrigyn". This short story gives you a tantalizing taste of Hambly's well-realized, well-written fantasy worlds. I cannot recommend it too highly. It's a real treat.Product details
